DESCRIPTION:
Shadow Hearts follows Yuri, a young man with the power to transform into monsters, and Alice, a woman caught in a dangerous supernatural pursuit. Their journey crosses an alternative early-twentieth-century world where occult forces and personal histories shape the adventure. Battles use the Judgement Ring, asking players to time button presses as a moving indicator passes through marked areas. This gives attacks and other actions a timing element alongside the usual decisions about abilities and equipment. Yuri's transformations add another layer to party combat, while the story mixes horror imagery, unusual companions and darker themes with the structure of a traditional Japanese role-playing adventure.
