DESCRIPTION:
Reiko's husband dies just after their marriage, leaving her vulnerable to the powerful Tsubakikoji family's bullying. Refusing to submit, she claims the inheritance and challenges her rivals through the family's extraordinary tradition of formal slap duels. Rose and Camellia turns the confrontation into a timing contest, alternating opportunities to strike with moments when careful evasion is essential. Swipe direction, distance, speed and accuracy determine the effectiveness of an attack, while reading an opponent's movement helps avoid the returning blow. The exaggerated elegance of its aristocratic setting makes each exchange part combat and part social satire, following a widow who insists on fighting back.
