DESCRIPTION:
Explore Jeff Minter’s unusual career through an interactive documentary containing games, historical material and a view of the creative personality behind them. Titles such as Gridrunner, Revenge of the Mutant Camels, Llamatron and Tempest 2000 reveal different expressions of his interest in shooting, movement and overwhelming visual effects. The collection places those experiences within the British game-development world of the eighties and nineties, connecting play with the story of an independent creator. Part of Digital Eclipse’s Gold Master Series, it treats documents and the games themselves as complementary evidence. The result offers both a playable selection and a chance to understand the sheep, llamas and lasers that made Minter’s work distinctive.
