Players experience adventures involving prehistory, ancient China, the Wild West, feudal Japan, the near future, science fiction, and more. Each chapter introduces its own characters, tone, and gameplay ideas, while tactical battles use a grid-based timing system. The apparently independent stories eventually connect in surprising ways.
