DESCRIPTION:
Programmer Kanii and artist Kumade began making independent games after meeting at college, but their work has not brought financial security. Part-time jobs consume the hours they wanted to spend creating, and the pressure of making something that sells begins to affect their partnership. Goodbye World tells their story across thirteen narrative chapters, interspersed with twelve stages of a puzzle-platforming game. The contrast connects the act of playing with the difficulties of the people trying to produce games. Its focus is personal rather than heroic, following two friends whose shared passion must contend with disappointment, practical responsibilities and a decision that may change their future together.
