DESCRIPTION:
Humanity has largely abandoned an exhausted Earth for Mars, but a hostile invasion forces a return to defend the old home. Environmental researcher Azusa Takanashi pilots the advanced YK-IIA fighter in the counterattack, collecting resources from destroyed enemy craft to improve its capabilities. A selection of secondary weapons supports different tactics as the stages introduce new threats. Designed using actual sixteen-bit hardware, Earthion creates a new side-scrolling shooter within the technical identity of an older generation. The main campaign follows Azusa’s mission, while Challenge Mode provides a further test of combat control. Yuzo Koshiro’s music supports the effort to prevent Earth’s final loss.
