Take two everyday items and a roll of tape and what do you get? The ultimate zombie killing weapon, that’s what! Look out for Combo Cards – they’ll show you the best items to combine and help you gain lots of extra Prestige Points.

Zombies and Psychos
DR2 ramps up the carnage with 1000s of zombies on screen at once and, just to make things even more interesting, they’ve added a whole host of hellish psychos too. The undead and unstable are everywhere and you’re in charge of dealing with them – and you get to do it with weapons that are created to kill masses in one go!

Co-op Play
Co-op play comes to the world of Dead Rising for the first time, and lets you buddy up with a friend to let loose some serious tag-team terror on the undead! Plus you’ve got multiplayer mayhem as four players get the chance to enter the Terror Is Reality arena and take on packs of zombies in this gloriously gory game show.

The glitz and glamour of the world’s premier entertainment resort may have been replaced by guts and gore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time. Packed full of the best clubs and casinos, bars and bistros, shopping malls and shows, you’re going to have a killer time!

The weapon-creation system continually rewards you with unique ways to kill your brain-starved foes, but it’s the tight structure that provides the main draw. Because you’re continually pushed from one objective to the next, you don’t have time to dwell on small problems. It would have been nice to be able to put a waypoint on your map, and the driving controls are still horrible, but it’s worth putting up with these issues just to experience the brutal joy that is buried within. There are a lot of zombie games out there, but this game proves that killing brain-dead foes can offer more than just mindless fun. “It’s not the smoothest game…however that doesn’t mean a thing when the game’s this much fun. Using a car battery and a Street Fighter mask to electrocute the undead and a set of knives and a pair of boxing gloves to make Wolverine claws are all great times. Watching Chuck get covered in blood as he slays thousands of zombies, changing outfits so that one minute you’re in a toddler clothes with a LEGO head and the next you’re in a sundress, and listening to completely whacked out boss stories – that’s what I remember about Dead Rising 2. Any issue the game might have just falls to the backburner.” 8/10 – IGN
