DESCRIPTION:
A computer programme promises to create your ideal friend, learning from your responses and adapting to what you enjoy. Interact with the simulated companion inside an old-fashioned operating environment, where the apparently cheerful effort to prevent loneliness begins to become less reassuring. The adventure uses its artificial friendship to play with the boundary between a game and the person controlling it, developing through changing activities and a role-playing world. Its tension comes from wondering how much the programme understands and what it wants from the relationship. What begins as a simple technological offer gradually becomes an unsettling examination of dependence, attention and the need to be somebody’s best buddy.
