DESCRIPTION:
The Red Stone War has left society divided between a mutant-filled surface, the refugee Undercity and the wealthy sky settlement of Esperanza. Blade Assault follows the Undercity’s resistance against the corrupt military ruling above it. Two-dimensional action combines fast dashes, ranged attacks and transformable weapons with roguelite changes between attempts. Randomly offered Cores and upgrades alter how those weapons work, encouraging adaptation during each run. Allies and other characters provide further improvements and access to powers. Its pixel-art science-fiction setting gives repeated battles a political purpose, turning the growth of an individual fighter into another step toward challenging the world’s unequal divisions.
