DESCRIPTION:
Thirteen characters’ stories intersect in a science-fiction mystery built around visions of past and future. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim combines illustrated side-scrolling investigation with top-down tactical battles against kaiju. Exploring conversations and scenes gradually reveals how the separate lives connect, while defending humanity requires preparing giant Sentinel machines with different weapons. Customisation supports the strategies used against incoming waves. Vanillaware’s painted environments give the narrative sections a distinctive atmosphere, contrasting with the battlefield view of the mechs. The Nintendo Switch release adds twenty-six skills, expanding the available arsenal around a story whose central challenge is understanding how apparently distant events belong to the same unfolding crisis.
