LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will include all the characters from both seasons of the hugely popular animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as some fan-favourite characters from the beloved theatrical Star Wars Saga.

The game features brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields. Play either as a Jedi or Separatist with all-new character abilities, such as Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups, all within a new, easy-to-navigate hub.

“…It says a lot that – despite one or two bugs that caused me to restart a level, as well as a host of individual mechanics that aren’t particularly noteworthy – I still enjoyed LEGO Star Wars III. The atmosphere is downright adorable, and the use of the license is excellent. Most importantly, though, the various types of gameplay that the developers have thrown together may not be all that amazing on their own, but the elements work together to create a well-paced, easy-to-understand game that is good fun for anyone. If you’ve been looking for a game to play with your kid (or a game to let your inner kid play), look no further.”

The hub world looks awesome. The maps and menus make great use of the Star Wars license.

This is the best the LEGO games have ever looked, with smooth animations and really good lighting effects.

It’s a task to screw up a Star Wars game when it comes to sound, and Traveler’s Tales makes good use of the licensed music and sound effects.

Nothing is particularly remarkable about LEGO Star War’s gameplay, but as a package, it’s good, simple fun.

If you are a completionist you have your work cut out for you, there’s unlockable after unlockable, and it’s easy to get addicted to the grind.
