Battleborn is a fast-paced, first-person “hero shooter” that blends elements of the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) and RPG genres. It is set in a distant future where nearly every star in the universe has been destroyed by a mysterious evil. Players take on the role of one of 25 “Battleborn” heroes, a diverse cast of characters who have united to fight and protect the universe’s very last star, Solus. The game features a full-length story campaign that can be played solo or cooperatively, as well as several competitive multiplayer modes. Each hero has unique abilities and weapons, with a “Helix” leveling system that allows players to customize their character on the fly within each match.
