Ring of Red is a real-time strategy and role-playing game for the PlayStation 2 (PS2). The game was developed and published by Konami and released in March 2001. 

Gameplay:
  • In Ring of Red, players control mechs and soldiers in battles that combine real-time action with turn-based strategy. 
  • Players choose from five mechs, a pilot, and ground troops. 
  • Players must use quick reflexes and clever strategies to defeat enemies. 
  • Players can prepare for battles using a grid method. 
  • Players can stay back to recover, fix up, and resupply their troops. 
Story:
  • Ring of Red is set in an alternate history where the Allies invaded Japan to end World War II instead of using the atomic bomb. 
  • The game takes place in the 1960s, when Japan was split into North and South Japan. 
  • The game begins with a test battle for prototype mechs called Armoured Fighting Walkers (AFWs).
