Description

Good condition & 100% complete with contents: DRIVER II / DRIVER 2 (PS1) for SONY PlayStation / PS1. This preowned game comes complete with case, covers (both reverse and front covers), manual / booklet, and game disc. Some faint superficial markings / cosmetic scratches, and inside the case we found one of the tiny plastic centre spindles missing it’s miniature prongs, but these are extremely minor imperfections, and the game discs have been secured with a bubble wrap spacer.

The crime world’s fastest getaway driver is back on the streets in Driver 2, the sequel to the action-packed Driver. Like its predecessor, Driver 2 is an adrenalin-fueled, high-speed car chase through the streets of four cities, where you, as Tanner, infiltrate the criminal underworld, using your driving skills as well as your cunning to disrupt their plans. All the true-to-life features of Driver; such as realistic car handling, complete with damage modeling and true, real-world physics reactions on all cars; extensive production, giving the cities an amazing realism, featuring recognizable landmarks; new features such as foot missions, dual player, and the enhanced cut scenes make this game a real adrenalin rush.

Fine-tuning the white-knuckled car chase formula of its predecessor, Driver 2 features more of the same high-speed, inner-city vehicular mayhem, and casts players once again as Tanner, a hard-boiled undercover cop who’s posing as a badass getaway driver–this time, to stop an international mob war.

With computer-animated cinematic sequences doing the lion’s share of the storytelling, players must guide Tanner through more than 40 action-packed missions in four different city settings, this time on foot–which primarily allows Tanner to carjack other vehicles–as well as behind the wheel.

While it can be of a lot of fun to play, Driver 2 is no joy ride. The missions can be quite unforgiving and require many restarts to complete, and the cops are quite determined–even at the “Easy” setting. Also, the game’s coarse, choppy 3-D graphics often get in the way of things, with slowdowns disrupting the game’s pace, and buildings and such popping up out of nowhere. –Joe Hon
