What are reviewers saying about Everybody’s Tennis?
Everybody’s Tennis has two modes of play:
-Story Mode, in which you begin with two characters and play tennis throughout the world unlocking customisable items and more playable characters along the way.
– Exhibition Mode is the basic pick up and play mode which lets you jump right into a game vs the computer with varying levels of difficulty spanning from Level 1 – Extreme! You can also choose to play a friend via wireless play if your lucky enough to have a friend….
The gameplay of the tennis itself is excellent.
The depths of the gameplay in my opinion is well balanced and very well thought out. For instance, the run and gun type approach to playing may well win you games if your positioning is spot on, but the game encourages you to anticipate where the ball will land and to take your shot while stood with a firm footing.
As well as charge shots, there’s also stamina to be aware of. The more running, returning, diving etc you do the more your stamina gauge decreases, which in turn decreases your return balls accuracy and power. You’ll find that facing the upper echelons of the tennis world decreases your stamina pretty quickly.
All in all, Everybody’s Tennis is fantastic and easily the best Tennis – if not best PSP sport – game I’ve played. With hundreds of customisable items to unlock, 15 characters to play as (including a Helgast soldier from the Playstation Killzone series!), a well thought out system of play and bags of charm, Everybody’s Tennis should be experienced by, well….everybody!
